What Does Robots.txt Do?

The robots.txt file tells search engines which parts of your site to crawl or skip. A well-configured file keeps sensitive pages (admin, cart, internal search) out of the crawl and helps bots focus their budget on the pages that matter.

A single mistake in this file can accidentally block your whole site from Google. Want a full technical audit for your Austin business? Our team can handle it.
